School Based Clinician

The School Based Clinician is responsible for providing clinical services to youth and their families according to program and regulatory guidelines, ensuring that all services are strengths-based, individualized, and comprehensive according to need.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide clinical services to youth and their families as assigned.
• Participate in the integrated service planning process for all youths enrolled.
• Ensure all service plans are strengths-based, individualized, and comprehensive according to need.
• Monitor the effectiveness of integrated service plans and review.
• Ensure all service are coordinated with other service providers.
• Access supports in the School or in the community as indicated.
• Assist families as needed in accessing assessments and recommendations for psychotropic medication.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Requires a Masters degree, MSW or equivalent.
• Experience, training, or education commensurate with working with children with serious and persistent emotional disturbance is desired.
• Experience with working in a school environment is preferred.
• Must be licensed prior to starting, or have an active limited permit. LMSW, LCSW, or LCSW-R preferred.
• Required to pass licensing exam within six months of employment if working with a limited permit.
• Drivers license is required.

Albany residential has an immediate need for a full-time ResidentialAssistant Supervisor. This position is responsible for supervising direct care staff as well as working as part of the direct care team who collectively provide daily therapeutic care and programming according to agency policy and regulation.

Description

Clinical Case Manager, Intensive Family Empowerment Program

As a Clinical Case Manager in the Intensive Family Empowerment Program, you will provide six to nine months of intensive services to families whose children are either at risk of being removed from their homes or are already in placement. The goals of the program are to prevent out-of-home placement for troubled children, provide a safe environment to return children already in placement, and prevent future out-of-home placement. You will report to the Program Coordinator and will work in a combination of on-site and remote settings with travel to client's homes required.

Responsibilities:

• Provide home and community services to the identified youth and their caregiver as prescribed in the treatment plan for those enrolled in our Family Preservation Services.
• Educate parents and their child in a variety of social-emotional and parenting skills such as communication, discipline, anger management, emotional regulation, attunement, caregiver affect management, decision making, problem-solving, social skill building, budgeting, family and home organization, behavioral management, etc.
• Maintain a caseload of three children.
• Complete and maintain appropriate case records through the completion of intake, assessments, progress notes, reports, etc. following agency, county, and state policy and funding requirements.
• Participate in the comprehensive assessment and creation of the treatment plan for assigned cases to determine and address service needs and ensure the provision of regular treatment plan meetings and service plan reviews.
• Provide liaison contact with collateral resources such as referring agencies, schools, family courts, and other agency personnel serving on behalf of a child and family as it relates to their treatment.
• You will work Monday through Friday with a flexible schedule that includes evenings and a rotating on-call schedule.

Requirements and Education:

• Bachelor's degree in social work, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field;
• Experience working with at-risk youth and families;
• Home and community-based experience is a plus.

As a Community Service Provider, you will provide home and community-based services to help children with emotional and mental health challenges. You will travel locally to work with children and families in their communities providing a core of rehabilitative services to ensure success, including non-licensed counseling and support for youth and family, skill building, peer support, caregiver support and advocacy, pre-vocational services and respite. St. Lawrence has a unique opportunity for a seasonal caretaker at the University owned property on Upper Saranac Lake (NY). “Canaras” is a private camp with more than two thousand feet of scenic shoreline and several buildings including a main lodge, dining hall, guest cabins, boat houses, docks, tennis court, and conference center. It is operated as a seasonal destination for St. Lawrence University functions and guest accommodations for alumni, faculty, and staff. Our primary operations run from May – August with additional work expectations in April, September, and October. The Caretaker will be required to maintain a presence on-site and be on call during the occupied season.

The Caretaker is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all building interiors and exteriors. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the security of all gates and buildings, door hardware, general carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, maintaining fire safety devices and record keeping, daily water tests per NYS Board of Health. Sweeping decks, ramps and stairs and clearing roofs of debris.

Responsibilities will further include maintaining grounds to include but not limited to maintaining walkways, trails, roads. Removal of fallen branches, trees, cutting tree limbs and maintaining the canopy, chipping debris, cutting wood, mowing, weed eating and snow removal. The caretaker will also be responsible for training Canaras staff in these activities and to be there during the opening and closing of camp with Canaras staff. The caretaker will be responsible for being on site for all external and internal guests who stay on site during the pre and post season.

Maintain the operating budget and will be heavily involved in project planning and the capital budgeting process. Must maintain all University equipment, tools, and general stores. Additional responsibilities will include maintaining annual physical inventory of all tools, equipment, building furnishings, set-up, and tear down of events.

Under the general direction of the Associate Vice President and Chief Facilities Officer, the Caretaker must be able to interact positively with the Camp Director, Cook, and student workers along with contractors and other University employees.

The Caretaker will perform carpentry duties as assigned by the CFO or Capital Projects Manager.

Salary $37,000 - $42,000.

Minimum Qualifications

• H.S. diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Skilled work experience in the areas of general carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and painting.
• Ability to safely use assigned tools.
